Hello and welcome to Beyond Mediocrity: Going Beyond the Normal!

Beyond Mediocrity: Going Beyond the Normal is part of the teaching ministry of Jordan Cernek.  Serving God both universally on the web and locally in our community, we pray that you and your family would be grounded in the doctrine of the Gospel, discovering the blessings of abiding with Jesus by His grace.

Why "Beyond Mediocrity"?
To begin with, mediocre is simply another word for normal. Normal is defined as "conforming to a standard of average, typical, usual, or expected."  Operating from this definition, Beyond Mediocrity seeks to challenge the status-quo - the expected, usual beliefs of the general public - and call into question everything that is considered typical behavior, in order to bring every thought and action under the authority and headship of the truth of Jesus Christ our Lord (Ephesians 1:22).

Since 2012, the purpose of this ministry is simple: to proclaim the truth about God, man, and Jesus Christ.  The truth is this: that there is one true, holy God, revealed in creation and through his Son whom he sent; that man is depraved, utterly rebellious and sinful; and it is only through faith in Christ that we are saved by his grace alone - regenerated by his Spirit, recipients of the gift of faith by his grace, and growing into the likeness of him by the power of the Holy Spirit. May God grant continued grace to guide us into all truth, so that we may know how to live in a godly way (John 16:13, 2 Peter 1:3).

This purpose - to proclaim the truth - cannot be achieved by our own strength alone, however.  It is by the grace of God that we continue in the faith, seeking to know him and bear witness to the world concerning him.

Our hope is that you find the articles, videos, and other media on this website to be beneficial and encouraging to you as grow in the knowledge of the one, true God.  (Please contact Beyond Mediocrity and let us know what we can do for you, or let us know how God has used this ministry in your life.  We would love to hear from you!)

Don't settle for average.  Go beyond the normal!
