"Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.  Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age'" (Matthew 28:18-20).

Before Jesus ascended into Heaven after his resurrection, he commanded his followers to make disciples - until the day he returns.  Discipleship begins with a person's conversion (equivalent to "baptizing them in the Name") and then continues with one's instruction to submit to the Law of Christ ("teaching them to obey").  And this is the Law of Christ: loving God and desiring good for others.
